In His Eyes
This summer I went to Kanakuk Kamps in Lampe, Missouri! While I was there, one of my counselors read us a letter she had printed out called 'perfect', an extremely hard word to describe someone in this world of brokenness. As I sit here and think about this word, it seems almost impossible. No one can be perfect right? Well the awesome thing, is that no matter how broken we are, we are PERFECT in God's eyes. Think about this for a moment: messy hair, endless sins, pimples, bad grades, etc... Nevertheless, we are nothing but perfect IN HIS EYES.
The Letter: 'Perfect'
I made her... she is different. She is unique.
With love I formed her in her mother's womb.
I fashioned her with great joy.
I remember with great pleasure the day I created her. (Psalm 139: 13-16)
I love her smile. I lover her ways. I love to hear her laugh, and the silly things she says and does. She brings me great pleasure.
This is how I made her. (Psalm 139:17)
I made her pretty and not beautiful, because I know her heart and she would be vain... I wanted her to search out her heart and to learn that it would be Me in her that would make her beautiful...and it would be me in her that would draw friends to her. (1 Peter 3:3-5) I made her in such a way that she would need me.
I made her a little more lonesome than she would like to be...only because I need for her to learn and depend on Me.
I know her heart - I know if I had not made her like this she would go her own chosen way and forget Me... her creator (Psalm 63:5-8)
I have given her many good and happy things... because I LOVE her (Psalm 84:11, Romans 8:28)
Because I love her, I have seen her broken heart...and the tears she cried alone. I have cried with her, too, (Psalm 56:5) only because she would not hold My hand.
So many lessons she's learned the hard way because she would not listen to My voice. (Isaiah 53:6)
So many times I have set back and sadly watched her go her merry way alone, only for her to return to My arms sad and broken. (Isaiah 62:2)
Now she is mine again. I made her and then I bought her, because I love her. (Romans 5:8)
I have to reshape and remold her... to renew her to what I had planned for her to be. It's not easy for her or for Me. (Jeremiah 29:11)
I want her to be conformed to my image... this high goal I have set for her, because I lover her. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Forever and always, God.
In this letter, God continually reminds us that everything he does is because HE LOVES US. It is so hard in every day life to remember that our struggles are there for a reason, and God has a plan for each and every one of us (Jeremiah 29:11). I know when I am facing a struggle, I most definitely don't turn to God and say "thank you". However, when we listen to this part in the letter, "I made her a little more lonesome than she would like to be...only because I need for her to learn and depend on Me, " it explains to us the reason God does anything that we do not see as good is because he wants us to learn that we need to depend on HIM to get us through hard times. We can not go through life without his help, and no matter what we are facing, God will not give us struggles beyond what we can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13), because he LOVES US.
As you go on with your life this week, whenever you are feeling anxious or stressed, or do not understand what God is doing in your life, cast all your burdens on him, and DEPEND on him!!!! One thing my sweet daddy always reminds me of that I believe is so true, is that God only does things FOR us not TO us. Everything we face, is FOR us, and God has a plan for it in your life. No matter what you are facing, give it all to god, and thank him!
And most importantly, never forget you are PERFECT in his eyes!
Daily Dose Of Jesus!
