Everlasting Love

Everlasting Love

Let me just start off with saying I am FAR from perfect. I continually slip up and make mistakes. Some days I am energized and happy, and other days I will be down on myself or tired. The amazing thing my friends, is that no matter how many times we sin, or go against God's will, he will be with us every step of the way. Whether we get a good grade or a bad grade, we forget to pray, or even if we forget about God altogether, his unconditional love still remains - never ends and never changes. Time and time again I will stray away from God's presence, and get caught up in the desires of the world, and I always end up feeling broken and ashamed. I will run to God when I am feeling down, and he continually remains there waiting for us.

As I think about this never ending cycle, I realized something. Whenever we are feeling down, it isn't God giving up on us, rather us giving up on God. God NEVER leaves us. When we get caught up in the things of this world such as popular objects, acceptance, and identity, we tend to go our own way and give up on God without even realizing it. The world and its desires will pass by, but Gods love is EVERLASTING, and will never fade away. Because we think of love by human standards, it is almost impossible to grasp God's love towards us. God's doesn't stop loving us when he is too tired, or doesn't feel like it. No, God loves us at our very best and at our lowest points in life, and even when things get tough he will hold us tightly. He doesn't only love the people who believe in him, or seem to have it all going for them. He loves each and every individual for who they are, because he created each and every one of us for a special purpose.

Psalm 136:2 says it perfectly, "Give thanks to the God of Gods. His love endures forever". No matter the circumstances you are facing, or how distant you may feel from God, give thanks to him knowing he continually loves you and your brokenness. One verse that really sticks out to me is 1 Samuel 16:7 - "For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart"

How powerful is that verse. When we remember this verse daily, we can live with confidence and be original, remembering what really matters is gods approval of us, and that we love others with our whole heart! I know it is so hard in this twisted world to not compare ourselves to others or wish for things we do not have, but when we learn to be content with who we are and what God has given us, we can live our lives to our best ability, and LIVE IT ALL FOR JESUS!

If there is one thing I want you to get out of this post, it is that God's love is everlasting, and no matter what you are facing, he is waiting for you with open arms! Bring all your worries to the foot of the cross, and he will give you rest! God says it himself in Matthew 11:28 - 30 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
