Having Faith In God In The Midst Of Challenging Times

Have you ever thought to yourself, if God so loved the world why would he put these challenges in our life? Why would he bring war, illnesses, fighting, and sadness into our lives when he could make the world a happy and joyful place for all? When these trials are thrown our way we start to question the reasoning behind them and oftentimes forget that God IS in control and knows what he is doing. We think the only way out is by going our own way and trusting our own instincts. The truth is, however, is that God knows EXACTLY what he is doing with everything he places in our path. He has already planned out your whole life and has a reason for these struggles. If we could just take a step back and look at the long-term effect of these moments, we would be able to understand why trusting in God is the only way out. Sadly, we can’t see the long-term happiness and lessons we will learn, and we are only able to look at now and the present. In the bible, Job lost everything: his house, his money, his cattle, and his children. He remained faithful and recognized that everything he had in life came from the good gracious Lord. Instead of complaining for all he had lost, he remained faithful and reminded himself that if God decided to take all of this away from him then it must be the right thing. His wife even tempted him to lose faith in God because of everything they had lost, but Job remained faithful, knowing that only the Lord knows what is right. What if we could just remain faithful and trusting in our heavenly father when challenging times come our way. Although it is hard, and you can’t see the final outcome, you can remain hopeful as we have these truths from the Lord: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” Always remember, the troubles you are facing now, are bringing us closer and closer to an everlasting life. For this world is not temporary, and it will one day pass by, so remain faithful in the good gracious Lord, knowing that what is unseen is far greater! The Lord is the vine to our branches and without him we will bear no fruit! So, have faith in God in the midst of challenging times, and I promise the outcome will be everlasting!
